Hope

 What is one of the verses in Scripture that gives me hope? "But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 LSB

In what way? I am a sinner. Plain and simple. I have, throughout my life, in thought or deed, broken every Commandment. I am guilty before a Holy and Righteous God with no way to save myself. No sacrifice can wash my sin away, and no amount of penance can clear my sin debt. No work that I can do could expiate my guilt. Scripture teaches "For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23 LSB

Nothing WE can do can save us. So God sent his Only and unique son to do what we could not. To pay the price of our sin. He paid it with his death on the cross. He was our propitiation. He suffered the full cup of God's wrath towards sinners. He drank that cup dry. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only unique son, that whoever BELIVES IN HIM shall not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16

People often leave off that 'believes in him' part. God gave His only unique son to pay the ultimate price of our sin. To believe in Jesus isn't to just believe he existed. It is to believe that he is who he said he is. He is one with God. He said that "I and the Father are One." and "If you have seen me, you have seen the Father." No wiggle room is left for you. You must believe these things and repent to have salvation. Thus, I have hope.

In the coming dark days this Nation is going to face, having that faith and knowledge is going to be essential. Many so-called 'christians' are already being led astray by false teachers, whoring after worldly approval. I guess they missed the scripture that says "You adultresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world sets himself as an enemy of God" James 4:4 LSB

Many a church has taken the road of friendship with the world. God will not have it. They are the blind leading the blind. People with no discernment are like sheep being led to slaughter. It is so sad to see so many led astray because they refuse to test what they're being taught against the Word of God. Many will not even entertain that they are being led down the Wide path that leads to destruction. I see this as God sifting the wheat from the tares. 

Knowing this is why I have hope. My hope is in Christ.
