 Many people speak of individual repentance and salvation. They forget or don't know about National repentance. National Israel, throughout the Old Testament, strayed from God's Law. To be sure, not every Israelite strayed, but as a Nation she did. So God withdrew His protection from them. This happened many times. I think a comparison can be drawn throughout history of this happening to other Nations. They do abominable things, and God gives them over and withdraws His common grace.  The US in particular and the West in general are under God's wrath and judgement. No, this is not the the End Times. This is God's wrath poured out on sinful Nations that reject Him. All throughout the Old Testament we see examples of this with Israel as well as other Nations such as Babylon, the Medo-Persians, and even the Roman Empire. God only puts up with so much, then He judges and destroys. He always warns a people/nation though. In the Elder Days He sent His prophets. Jesus warned his disciples and followers about the utter destruction and desolation of Jerusalem. Those who listened were saved. Ah, We Humans are SO Stupid!

 Yes, we are. Amazingly stupid. Humanity's penchant for stupidity began in the Garden of Eden and has only gotten worse. The moment Eve gave ear to "Did God really say ... ?" our long descent began. With every passing century we become dumber. We ignore facts, refuse to question certain premises depending on who puts them forth, and ignore other possibilities for the same reasons. We also deny facts after the truth comes out to debunk any given narrative. As an example, take Travon Martin. You will still hear people put forth that he was completely innocent, that he was hunted down and killed because he was black, that he was an innocent little angel. The facts deny all of this but that doesn't stop idiots from putting forth their 'stupid' for all to see. It's even scarier when you realize that many are in positions of power.
