The Purveyors of Prophecy

So many see what's going on in the Middle East as prophecy being fulfilled. They are almost giddy at the thought. They can't even entertain the possibility that they are wrong. The slaughter happening there doesn't seem to register with them. It's pretty sad, really. They have taken Biblical prophecy written to people of another time and extrapolated it to this time. Many of them have been steeped in this kind of thinking their entire lives, never having even looked at other possibilities. Not once did they think they, and their teachers, might be wrong.  Revelation was not written to us. Nor was Daniel, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, or any of the other prophets. They were written to the people of their time, in their context. We can learn from them, we can strive to avoid the traps and snares those people fell into, but they were not written TO us. They were passed on to us as a warning, a lesson. We are not doing well at learning the lesson. Neither have the Jews learned. They ...

The Church Compliant

"Ever since Christ's ascension, world history has been a mopping-up operation. The Church Militant, so long as she is The Church Obedient, will be The Church Triumphant as well." The Days of Vengeance by David Chilton, pg. 324. The Church hasn't been any of these for at least 70 years. She started fading after WWII, as people doubted God after all the violence and horror of war. Many had their faith strengthened by the war, but it seems like many more began doubting. This slow decline went on for some time, but gained steam in the late 60's. Since then, much of the Church no longer warns of sin and judgment. Rather, she seems to want the World to like her, to see her as 'nice'. She refuses to warn against homosexuality, lust, greed, and all forms of perversion and evil. She says, "We need to meet people where they are." No. You need to call them from where they are, in the muck and mire of impending eternal death, call them to rise to eternal li...

Thoughts on Iran, Trump, and Leftism

Disclaimer : My thoughts on Iran are not informed by a deep knowledge of the Nation or Geopolitics. Just the opinions of what I've seen and read. Take it for what it is. Iran. This sucks. We didn't need another war. I don't know what the thought processes are of those at the top, whether Trump was put in a bad position by Israel, or if he has a good reason we don't know about. As for Israel, it wouldn't be the first time they put us in a position to have to support them or watch the Middle East go to complete hell. I am NOT a Zionist. I recognize Israel's right to exist, but it is a Nation like any other. They are not without issues of their own, and they are not always right. They do bad things like any other Nation. What I do know is that this conflict will, in my opinion, come to our shores. Our border has been wide open for so long that I do believe there are 'sleeper-cells' here, and that sooner or later, they'll strike.  Trump. I saw where ...
